A Birthday, a Trip to Florida, and an Anniversary

This is why I love September. Well, one of the reasons why I love it. I turned 45 on Sept. 20th. This year I spent it in Florida with my parents. Yup, took a solo vacation which was awesome. Yes, there was some form and duration of rain everyday but it was still very relaxing and fun. I was spoiled rotten. That's kind of a weird feeling-being spoiled when you're 45 years old by your mom and dad. But awesome nonetheless! My family had a cake for me before I left from Wright's Dairy Farm in N. Smithfield, RI which was DELICIOUS! And Meghan bought me:

Gilmore Girls Season 1. Classic! Meghan and I love GG and hope to eventually have every season on DVD. While in Florida, Mom and I went to Great Balls of Yarn in Jenson Beach. They have 5 locations in south Florida. What a beautiful store! They had a great variety of yarns from wool to cotton to novelties to sock yarn. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Beth gave me a quick lesson in 2 socks on 2 circulars which I very much appreciated. She is the resident sock knitter and when I put these on the counter to purchase,

she recognized my sock knitting obsession. They are from left to right-Lorna's Laces Shepard Sock Mixed Berries, Koigu, and Araucania Ranco Multy (a new one to me). Every year I buy myself a birthday present. Happy Birthday to me! Last Thursday, the 27th, Pete and I celebrated 21 years of marriage. 21 years! Wow! We went to dinner at a very nice, upscale restaurant and I even wore a dress(yeah, that doesn't happen very often). Dinner was lovely and the company great! Now I'm back to reality and it's time to look for a job.
