1. Alison has made a Sockapalooza 5 announcement. I LOVE Sockapalooza. I'm wearing my S4 socks at this moment. She says it will take place this summer-fall. Perfect timing!
2. Yesterday I got to spend a couple hours with #1 son, Peter. He had to come home to go to the doctor's. He literally got off the train in Franklin at 1:50, I drove him to the doctor's in Uxbridge then drove him back to Franklin to get the 4:00 train back to the city. He is less and less that angst ridden teenager and more and more that sweet boy I gave birth to. Only in an adult, 20 year old body.
3. I like to read the forums in Ravelry. I admit it-I'm a lurker. Yeah, I have opinions and a wealth of helpful information in my pea brain. But I hesitate to leave myself open to comments from others for expressing an opinion or whatever on subjects. I've said it before, I'm shy and will only put myself out there when I feel completely comfortable. It took me a couple years just to comment on peoples' blogs. Anyway, I digress. This week I got caught up in the threads regarding Magknits/Hipknits namely the complaints regarding service, etc. There was pretty much nothing positive flying around there. It got even mean at points. Like there was little regard for Kerrie, the proprietor's, feelings. I don't excuse poor business practices or excuses for same. But I think it to be not fair to "gang up" on someone on a discussion board. The so called anonimity of the internet, I think, can make some bold. I have read Kerrie's blog for a few years. And sure, I have had the impression that she took on way more than she could handle. But never in a million years would I bash her for that. So now Magknits is no more and the funny thing is there are people in the forums that are surprised. Go figure.
4. Norma has been talking about reusable shopping bags and recycling plastic grocery bags this week. I have purchased reusable bags from Hannaford's, my grocery store of choice. I have the plastic, tarp-like ones. They are the best things. And I get 5 cents back for each bag I use. So now instead of having to carry in 10-12 plastic bags I have 4 of the reusable ones. They are easy to carry and hold lots of stuff (if the bagger knows what they are doing).
5. Spring, where art thou? Woe is me that my fingers are STILL FREEZING!!! It was 30 degrees this morning when I got up. Yes, I am impatient. Big time. Mother Nature, send some relief! Please!
