Yup, the Midsummer Night STR sock is history. The leg looked great. The heel and foot, not so much. Too many stitches. The heel flap was 3+ inches, I should have stopped there. Then the foot circumference was really wacko big. So bye bye! I've ordered some Cherry Tree Hill in turquoise and will try the Cable Rib Socks from Favorite Socks again. I really like that pattern. We shall see.
In the meantime, I'm just about done with a sock using Wendy's new "toe-up sock with a gusset" pattern. This pattern is genius. I've tried toe up socks and wasn't thrilled with my short row heels and toes. This pattern with the gusset is fabulous-it looks neat and is really easy. I highly recommend it. Pictures later in the week because Pete took the camera with him fishing in case he bags Moby Dick and needs proof.
Mom and Dad were up from FLA last week for my niece's graduation and to visit with me, my brother and my sister and our families. I hadn't seen them since last August when they went south permanently so it was great having them here. But busy too. Hence, no blogging.
