Some Socks

These are some of the socks I've knit for me. Until My Secret Sock Pal asked what I usually knit for myself I hadn't realized that I knit boring, old stockinette. For the pair in the middle I used a mock cable pattern whose name escapes me at the moment. And you can't even see the pattern. I think I reserve the more intricate patterns for others. So, what I am saying SSP, some sort of patterning would be awesome since I don't do it for myself. Like I said before, anything you do will be great. Do it up! Have a ball! Sky's the limit! One thing I will say (here she goes again with the preferences) I'm not a she-she froo froo girly type of person. Lacy, frilly socks would probably look really silly on me. Not that I wouldn't wear them. They'd just look silly.

A couple of years ago, I knit these Cable Rib socks for one of my sisters. They had to be non-wool so I used Fortissima Colori cotton yarn in light pink (that was her favorite color). I liked the pattern and the socks were probably the best I've made yet. I'm considering this pattern for my Sock Pal. Not necessarily in cotton again but probably a solid or near solid color. It's only May 4th-August is a long way away-so my mind will likely change. But for now this pattern is #1 on my possibilities list.

Before I go I need to say something about the 2 hour Grey's Anatomy episode last night. GA is one of my favorite shows. I was not impressed with the Addison spin-off working simultaneously with the Grey's portion. It was very distracting. I think I would have been more accepting of the spin-off if it had run right after a whole Grey's episode or if Grey's just ran into the spin-off. There was too much back and forth. Just my opinion.

Have a great day!
