Mom's Shawl

Mom's shawl lounging on the deck. My goal was to finish it by Aug. 31. That's tomorrow. Am I done? NO! It's halfway done and needs to be finished by Sept. 19th when I FLY TO FLORIDA TO VISIT THE PARENTS!!! I have been telling my Mom that I'd knit something for her for the last 2 years. Everything I started I ended up hating or losing interest in and RIP RIP RIP. Now that she and Dad live permanently in FL she has no use for sweaters or wool socks or mittens and hats. So she asked for a shawl made out of something cottony in a beige or off-white to wear to church in the summer because the AC is cranked and she gets cold. Et voila-the shawl. I'm using Plymouth Yarn Co. Jeannee which is worsted wt. cotton and acrylic maybe. I think she'll like it and it should keep her shoulders warm enough. We'll see! The pattern came from WEBS-it's their own line-a Valley Yarns pattern. Simple enough to memorize (eventually-I'm a little slow at memorizing patterns) but with enough interest to be sort of dressy. I need to get to work on it again. I was doing 2-3 pattern repeats a night and then abandoned it to do my Monkey socks. Oops!
